Fried Frank Grows Its International Arbitration Practice, Welcomes James Barratt in London

Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson LLP announced today that James Barratt will join the Firm as a partner in the Litigation Department and the International Arbitration Practice. He will join on 6 January, 2020 and will be based in the Firm’s London office.



Mr. Barratt has more than 15 years of experience as an international arbitration lawyer, specializing in international commercial arbitration, public international law, and investment arbitration. He has served as counsel in over 40 international arbitrations, on behalf of governments, international organizations, and multinationals, administered under the rules of all major institutions, as well as in ad hoc proceedings under various applicable laws. Mr. Barratt has worked extensively with clients in Asia Pacific and Latin America and has a particular focus on disputes in the energy sector. He has also conducted substantial arbitrations in various sectors, including life sciences, private equity, aviation, defense, technology, and telecommunications and frequently advises clients on investment treaty disputes and public international law.
