DLA Piper bolsters Corporate practice with team of five new partners

Global law firm DLA Piper has significantly bolstered the strength of its Corporate practice in Australia with a team of five market leading M&A partners from Norton Rose Fulbright.  

Partners Shane Bilardi, James Stewart, Jyoti Singh, Chris Mitchell and Andrew Fisken will join DLA Piper in the coming months.

Managing Partner in Australia, Amber Matthews, said: “This is an exciting period of growth and expansion for DLA Piper as we continue to step up in the Australian market. We’ve been strengthening our presence in the market over the past few years, and these lateral hires form part of the ongoing expansion of our Corporate practice in Australia.”

In addition to the five partners, a team of lawyers from Norton Rose Fulbright’s Melbourne, Sydney and Perth offices will also join DLA Piper, including special counsel, senior associates and solicitors.

These five lateral hires follow the of appointment of six new partners announced in the past two months – including projects partner Tom Fotheringham from King & Wood Mallesons, and five partner promotions, taking the total number of new partners to 11.
