Jeremy Cohen re-appointed CEO for Dentons’ UK & Middle East region

Dentons announced today that Jeremy Cohen has been re-appointed Chief Executive Officer for the UK & Middle East (UK&ME) region. As CEO he will remain a member of Dentons’ Global Management Committee and Global Board.

A partner in the Firm since 2000, Jeremy was previously head of the London Corporate practice, and has been UK&ME CEO since March 2015.

Commenting on his re-appointment, Jeremy said, “It is a privilege to lead such a talented group of partners, and to offer our clients throughout the UK and Middle East a combination of size, quality and smarter resourcing that few of our competitors can match. Following the completion of a number of growth and innovation initiatives during the past three years I am convinced that we now have both a team and platform in place to drive forward and continue our success in the years ahead.”

“Since becoming UK&ME CEO Jeremy has successfully led a strategy designed to capitalize on the opportunities presented by the Firm’s global platform and brand for innovation,” said Dentons Global CEO Elliott Portnoy. “As a result of this our UK&ME colleagues are generating a higher calibre of work than ever before, winning a number of national, sector and practice group awards in the process, and we are delighted at the enthusiastic support the UK&ME partners have shown for his continued leadership”.

Dentons Global Chairman Joe Andrew added, “Combining with leading Scottish firm Maclay Murray & Spens, successfully integrating a 70-strong Financial Disputes and Regulatory team in Watford, and launching Dentons Business Services EMEA in collaboration with our Europe region, are just a few of the successful initiatives Jeremy has led during his first term as UK&ME CEO. Under his leadership the UK&ME region is now very well-positioned in two of the world’s most competitive legal markets.”

Dentons also announced that Brandon Ransley will be retiring from his role as UK Managing Partner, and from the partnership, at the end of the UK&ME region’s current financial year which falls at the end of April 2018. Brandon joined the Firm in November 2008 as part of a six-partner team move. He led the Milton Keynes office from 1 May 2009 and was appointed UK Managing Partner in 2010. While retiring from the partnership Brandon will remain at the Firm as Special Adviser to assist on strategic projects.

Jeremy Cohen said, “Since becoming UK Managing Partner Brandon has had a major impact on all aspects of the development of our UK business, playing an instrumental role in our major strategic initiatives during this period and the transformation of our financial position. He has done so with great determination, good humour and collegiality throughout. On behalf of all of us at Dentons I would like to thank Brandon for his enormous contribution to the business and, equally as importantly, to the culture of our Firm.”
