Head of Latham & Watkins’ India Practice Named Dealmaker of the Year

Rajiv Gupta wins top award for advising on numerous capital raising and cross-border M&A deals for Indian clients.

Latham & Watkins’ Singapore partner and head of the firm’s India Practice, Rajiv Gupta, was named Dealmaker of the Year at the 14th annual Asia Legal Business South East Asia Law Awards. The top honor recognizes his leadership on some of the region’s most high-profile and innovative transactions during the last 12 months.

The awards celebrate outstanding contributions of private practice law firms and in-house counsel to the legal landscape of the region. The Dealmaker of the Year award is the highest individual honor presented at the event. In 2017 alone, Gupta advised clients on more than 20 transactions in India, one of the hottest markets in Asia, and his work included many of the largest IPOs and debt offerings to come out of the country.

Latham & Watkins was also recognized for its role in Bumi Resources’ global debt restructuring which was awarded Debt Market Deal of the Year (Premium).
