Dentons strengthens venture tech team with West Coast addition

Dentons, the leading global law firm, named Gregory R. Carney as counsel in the Venture Technology and Emerging Growth Companies practice. He focuses his practice on mergers and acquisitions (M&A) as well as corporate finance, and will be resident in the Firm’s Los Angeles office.

Carney represents buyers, sellers, private equity funds and financial advisors in public and private M&A transactions, including leveraged buyouts, mergers, acquisitions, dispositions and recapitalizations. He has substantial experience counseling issuers and investors in all aspects of public and private securities transactions, including public offerings and venture capital financings.

Dentons continues to expand its capabilities for the venture technology and startup communities. Carney will advise clients on M&A transactions, public and private offerings of securities, securities filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission, fund formation, structuring and negotiation of fund investments, and FINRA broker-dealer compliance.

He earned his JD from Pepperdine University School of Law, magna cum laude, and his BS from the McIntire School of Commerce at the University of Virginia.
